Why do you think the offsite sector is so important to the future of the construction industry?
The Offsite Sector is very important part of the future of construction because, it provides an immediate solution to the embedded and deep rotted challenges that traditional construction currently faces, in terms of controlling or reducing cost, improving quality, providing assured performance of buildings, overcoming skills shortages, improving productivity, closing the supply-demand crisis for housing, meeting future carbon and energy legislation and accelerating economic growth.
Do you think that structural timber is the future of the offsite industry and, if so, why?
Timber as a material has a wealth of benefits and will be the material of choice in the future due to its sustainability, flexibility, ease of use, cost effectiveness, not to say its beauty and feel good factor. Timber engineered components & build systems, are now common-place offering a wide range of component, panelised and modular solutions, that meet the various building typologies and market demands, head on with confidence.
